BILL BUSSEY has been an active trail/greenway advocate for over 12 years. He is the current President of Triangle Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, Vice-Chair and webmaster of the Triangle Greenways Council (www.trianglegreenways.org), Chair of the Chatham County Trails Committee, Active Chatham and the Jordan Lake SRA Advisory Board.

When not working on the ECG, Bill spends much of his time on advocacy outdoor trail work to complete the 22-mile long American Tobacco Trail, a regional rails-to-trails project in Durham, Chatham and Wake counties of NC (www.triangletrails.org).

Bill has been chairman of the NC Committee for the ECG since 2001, and has served the Alliance in that time as a member of several Board committees, including the Trails, Advocacy, and Inaugural Event committees.

A former longtime Board member of the National Speleological Society, Bill lives in Pittsboro, NC with his wife Renee and their three cats.
