Mark Fenton, host of the PBS television series "America's Walking," is an entertaining, persuasive, knowledgeable walking advocate. He is also a champion walker: from 1986 to 1990, Mark was a member of the U.S. national racewalking team five times, and coached the U.S. team in the World Cup in Beijing, China.

He is a principal member of the national coalition, "Partnership for a Walkable America," which has added to his experience studying and promoting more walkable environments and broad public health issues. Currently, Mark uses his expertise as a motivator and speaker on health and fitness as a coach and clinician and as an outspoken pedestrian advocate. He appears often on national television and radio broadcasts, is the author of three books, and is former editor of Walking Magazine. Mark earned a BS and an MS in mechanical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
