Committee
Connecticut Committee for the East Coast GreenwayThe Connecticut Committee for the ECG is extremely active in advocating for local trails and greenways. These volunteers coordinate route selection and undertake our advocacy efforts to move the Greenway ahead in the state. By building support and partnerships with citizens, public agencies and organizations at the local and state levels, the Connecticut Committee is helping to get the ECG on the ground, mile by mile. Communities along the Hop River Trail (13 miles, Windham to Bolton) have been improving the trail's dirt surface, and work should continue through the year. So far, nearly half of the trail has been improved to meet ECG surface standards in the towns of Bolton and Andover. We've gotten word that the town of Columbia will start improvements on its section of the trail later this year. We will also see ECG trail markers installed on the upgraded portions of the Hop River Trail this year, courtesy of CT's Department of Environmental Protection.
