Monday, April 18, 2016, 6:30 – 8:30 PM: Discover the East Coast Greenway! Join East Coast Greenway staff, trustees and volunteers at REI in Soho (303 Lafayette Street, NYC) to learn about exciting new developments along the route, particularly in the tri-state area, plus group bike ride and other events this year as well as and tips on exploring the Greenway on your own. The event is FREE and light refreshments will be available. Please register so we know how many people to expect.

Saturday, May 7, 2016 – 3rd Annual Toast to Trails Cycle & Sip hosted by the East Coast Greenway Alliance and Cloer Family Vineyards. This bicycle ride boasts a 25-mile round trip ride on the scenic southern portion of the American Tobacco Trail (ATT) in Durham, NC. The half-way point features a visit to the beautiful Cloer Family Vineyards in Apex. Lunch and a wine tasting are included in the ticket price. ECGA members receive a discount on tickets, and non-member tickets include a year membership! Registration and additional information. Early bird pricing until April 15th!

Sunday, May 14, 2016- Willimantic River Rail Trail Opening. Join our friends from the CT Department of Transportation and the CT Department Energy and Environmental Protection, the Town of Windham, the Last Green Valley and others in celebrating the newly constructed connection between the ECG’s Air Line North and Hop River State Park Trails. Meet at the Air Line State Park Trail Bridge over the Willimantic River at 11:30 am. Please click here for more information. 

Sunday, May 15, 2016 – New York 5-Island Ride, a 29-mile route that begins in Manhattan and crosses into the Bronx using the re-opened High Bridge, then continues to Randalls (and Ward) Island, Queens, and Roosevelt Island. Information and registration available here.

Sunday, May 15, 2016 – Bicycle Tour the Blackstone River Bikeway with the ECGA! Join the New England team, Molly Henry and Eric Weis for a 44-mile tour. We’ll stop at Kelly House for a historical presentation with NPS Park Rangers, eat lunch in the Woonsocket area and get a sneak peek into the future with VHB’s Bill DeSantis who will lead us through the soon to open section of Blackstone River Greenway in Massachusetts. Saturday, June 9, 2016, 9 AM – International Festival of Arts and Ideas in New Haven East Coast Greenway Bike Ride Part 1! Discover the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail section of the East Coast Greenway. Travel North from New Haven to Cheshire and learn about plans to connect the former rail trail to Northampton, MA. Visit historic Lock 12 in Cheshire before returning to New Haven. A representative of ECGA will lead the ride and provide information and background on the trail. This ride leaves from the bike tour information booth on the Green in New Haven and helmets are required. The ride are open to all and are completely free.

Saturday, June 11, 2016 – National Parks Ride, a 25-mile one-way ride to celebrate the 100thbirthday of the National Parks Service. From Lower Manhattan to St. Paul’s Church, Revolutionary War site in Westchester County.  After enjoying its Colonial Day re-enactments, return by Metro North or the 5 line (both within a mile of the church). Or, bike home if you prefer.

Saturday, June 18, 2016, 9 AM – International Festival of Arts and Ideas in New Haven East Coast Greenway Bike Ride Part 2! Travel South on the East Coast Greenway to Silver Sands State Park in Milford and return. This section of the ECG incorporates the Vision Trail, the Harborside Trail, the Long Wharf Nature Preserve, and the Savin Rock Trail. A representative of ECG will lead the ride and provide information and background on the trail. This ride leaves from the bike tour information booth on the Green in New Haven and helmets are required. The ride are open to all and are completely free.

July 30 – August 6, 2016Week a Year Bike Tour in Maine! Registration is now open!

Sunday, August 14, 2016 – Manhattan Loop Ride, the ever-popular 32-mile ride around Manhattan’s rim, with a new view at every turn!  The ride uses greenways along the Hudson and East Rivers except for the “east side gap.” Information and registration.

October 2 – 8, 2016 – Week a Year Bike Tour, Carolinas! Registration is now open!

Sunday, October 9, 2016 – Ninth Annual Hudson Loop Ride, a 20-mile loop along both the Manhattan and New Jersey sides of the Hudson River, led jointly by the New York and New Jersey committees for the East Coast Greenway. Information and registration.

November 11 – 13, 2016 25 Anniversary Kickoff, Fall Summit, and Annual Meeting in Providence, RI. Please save the dates. More details in the months ahead.
