Saturday, May 30, 2015– Join Milford, Connecticut in celebrating May Bike Month with the grand finale – a ribbon cutting ceremony for the state’s first contra-flow bike lane. Thanks to a generous donor, the ECG was able to partner with the city of Milford to design and construct a quarter mile contra-flow bike lane. Thursday, June 4, 5:30-8p.m., “Neuse River Trail Completion Celebration”.
Join Raleigh, NC Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources and the East Coast Greenway Alliance to celebrate the completion of the Neuse River Greenway Trail. The event will be held at Anderson Point Park in Raleigh and will include music, fun activities and local food trucks.
Thursday, June 4, at 1:30 p.m., “Bike the Neck Ribbon Cutting”.
Georgetown County, SC dignitaries will perform an official ribbon cutting for the Waverly Road/Kings River Road three miles of bike path recently designated as East Coast Greenway on Pawley’s Island, SC. The ribbon cutting will be held at the west entrance to Waccamaw
Elementary School. Once the ceremony is concluded, Bike the Neck will host a ride/walk from the school to the new library (7 miles roundtrip).
Saturday, June 13, 2015: New Haven Festival of Arts & Ideas Ride, Part 1: Join ECG volunteers in Connecticut for a 25 mile family fun ride. Discover the East Coast Greenway’s Farmington Canal Heritage Trail, north from the New Haven Green . Learn about plans to connect the rail trail to Northampton, MA and visit historic lock 12 in Cheshire before returning to New Haven. An ECGA volunteer will lead the ride and provide information and background on the trail. Helmets & signed waiver are required. Starts at 9 am on the New Haven Green, New Haven CT.
