The actual Greenway trail is funded via public funds, included federal transportation funds and local and state bonds. The East Coast Greenway Alliance doesn’t build or own trail: locally owned and managed trails make up the Greenway. The Alliance work is funded through contributions, membership dues, chamber of commerce dues, corporate sponsorships, grants, mile sponsorships, merchandise sales, event income, and more.  Alliance funds largely go toward staffing that supports advocacy, communication, promotion of the vision, and collaborative work.
