TITUSVILLE, Fla. – A group of 40 cyclists plus support staff will depart Titusville, Florida, on Saturday, November 9, 2020, bound for Key West on the final leg of the East Coast Greenway Alliance’s Week-A-Year (WAY) Tour, a 9-year journey along the entirety of the 3,000-mile Greenway.

Beginning in 2011 in Calais, Maine, WAY Tour riders have spent one southbound week per year on the East Coast Greenway, picking up where they left off the previous year. In 2019, the group will take off from Titusville, the second town designated by the state of Florida as a Trail Town, and ride for seven days along the eastern coast of Florida en route to the southernmost point of the continental United States:

  • Saturday, Nov. 9: Titusville to Melbourne Beach

  • Sunday, Nov. 10: Melbourne Beach to Hutchinson Island

  • Monday, Nov. 11: Hutchinson Island to Delray Beach

  • Tuesday, Nov. 12: Delray Beach to Miami Beach

  • Wednesday, Nov. 13: Miami Beach to Key Largo

  • Thursday, Nov. 14: Key Largo to Marathon

  • Friday, Nov. 15: Marathon to Key West

By the end of next week, nearly half of the group – many now age 65 or older – will have completed the entire East Coast Greenway, one week at a time. Fundraising in support of their annual ride, the group has secured nearly $500,000 in support of the nonprofit East Coast Greenway Alliance, while also contributing to local economies up and down the East Coast by spending thousands annually on hotel stays, meals and other purchases over the past 9 years.

"The WAY Tour is a highlight of the East Coast Greenway annual calendar. It's an opportunity for this pioneering group of riders and trail advocates to see the culture and nature throughout our corridor. When we get to Key West, we look forward to celebrating the impact they made raising the profile of the Greenway and raising resources to make it safe for all to enjoy,” says East Coast Greenway Executive Director Dennis Markatos-Soriano.
