Hudson Loop Bike Ride

hudson river greenway
New York: Hudson River Greenway, New York City, 12.4 mi.The Greenway is a great way to travel north and south on the island of Manhattan, with broad views of the Hudson River. This most populated stretch of East Coast Greenway begins at Battery Park and travels the length of the island to the George Washington Bridge. At rush hour, join the throngs: bicycle commuters and recreationalists, runners, and walkers.

Join us for a 20-mile loop bicycle ride on the East Coast Greenway from Pier 84 in Manhattan along the Hudson River Greenway north to and across the George Washington Bridge into NJ and then south along the Hudson River Greenway's NJ sections down to Hoboken. Those needing to return to Manahttan may do so by Ferry*, PATH train*, or by cycling back over the GW Bridge. The ride will be at a very easy pace of between 8 and 10 MPH. This will be our 9th annual Hudson Loop ride. It is very popular and with good reason, its a beautiful and fun ride! There is a long steep uphill approaching the GWB, and a steep on-road downhill leaving the GWB going back to the riverfront. Bikes must have good brakes and multiple geared bikes are recommended. Parking is available on the street as well as in parking garages in Hoboken at the beginning of the ride. Need to rent a bike? Our start location is at Blazing Saddles, which rents bikes. They open at 9 am. Each rider is responsible for the cost of their transportation back to Manhattan. We usually ride rain or shine but if the weather is particularly unpleasant, you will receive a cancellation email at 7 am on the day of the ride. To register: All cyclists must register, and we suggest a donation of $10 to join this ride, which supports the East Coast Greenway Alliance's mission to create a 3,000-mile biking and walking route from Maine to Florida. Donate $50 or more and you'll receive a year's membership to the ECGA! Register and donate here
