Local Knowledge

If you have a fat bike, cross country skis or ski skates,  this is the winter trail for you. It's a beautiful wooded trail on an old rail bed, making its way through incredible stone cuts dripping with icicles, over a covered bridge, and alongside a bubbly brook. The trail is never plowed so it’s over the river and through the woods for you!

In warmer seasons, biking, hiking and walking opportunities abound.  For a longer trip, continue onto the Airline Trail in Willimantic.

Barbara Amodio is an East Coast Greenway ambassador, co-chair of Bike Walk Bolton, and avid bicycle tourist
